Living in the moment sometimes seems an impossible task. Don't let the past weigh you down but also try to keep the future from keeping you from focusing on the wonder that is around you. Now if only I could heed my own words. I spend a lot of time planning for what is coming and don't take advantage of the moments that happen on the spur of the moment. That is where the beauty lies - in the moment.
This was such a great find on one of our walks lately. We were at a large park in Kansas and just came upon this mushroom cluster. I was drawn in by the shape of the grouping (kinda heartish) and how tightly packed they are. I love to find the beauty in the mundane or, in this case, in something that most times would be viewed as needing to be dug up and thrown away. This is more inspiration to me to slow down and look around for little bits of the divine everywhere.
We have spent a lot of time in Wichita, KS in the last few weeks and so took advantage of some of the attractions. We took a couple of trips to the Sedgwick County Zoo and were there at exactly the right time to see this mama goose adjusting her eggs. The weather was beautiful and she seemed very relaxed. It was a wonderful sight to see. Happy Spring everyone!

I love all things multi-purpose and space-saving. This is just the ultimate example of that. It is a piano inside of a table! Take it from someone who had to just buy a keyboard/piano for lesson (for Malcolm) and doesn't really have room for it. This is beautiful and functional all at the same time.

At this time of the year, I am always thinking about simplifying my house, my work, my life. I am so inspired by the clean lines and clutter-less space of these rooms. If only I could get my world to look like these examples. I have to keep working for it. Maybe someday I will be a person without clutter. Come on, a person can dream!
It is official! I am addicted to letterpress! We don't see it too much around here but it is everywhere online. The designers are usually pretty good about photographing the cards on an angle so that the texture created by the press is obvious and makes me want to touch. The above cards were created by Press Charming and designed by Tova Glenn at Brighten My Day Studio. The golden yellow medallion is just amazing!
The Ahoy card above (from Letterpress Delicacies) shows the texture really well too. The complicated nature is inspiring as well. But check out the one below! The flourishes are gorgeous!
